The "first Thursdays" short film evening is always a great networking opportunity or simply a chance to get together with or meet new Houston filmmakers and creative people. This $FREE evening is not to be missed because you won't get to experience films like this anywhere else. Please arrive early, screening begins promptly at 8:30PMish.

We acquired the rights to this dumb comic MONOMANIA. We are going to make a million dollars off of it. If we do not, we are going to kill the creators of the comic, Michael Comeaux and Joseph Graham. We already have them bound and gagged. We are just waiting for the cash to flow in before a final decision on their lives.

SO…we need you to buy it in our brand new MC STORE.

Hey, remember us? Those guys that made Nothing Really Happens right before the world went to hell? We have done a few other things since that film. Oh wait…we have only made a short called Mashed Potato Face. But it’s pretty good and we have lives and stuff. But hey, we are going to try it again because we are not smart people. Justin wrote another movie and Joey liked it enough, so here we go.

We will have another long thing. Unless we all die!

Be sure to follow them social accounts for day to day updates. We are gonna shoot this almost like a grown-up movie this time. So it should be rigorous and insane.

Mashed Potato Face (short) - On the Fest Circuit

He’s out there, and he is coming for din-din…

Mashed Potato Face

Our wacky 70s Italian cinema homage short MASHED POTATO FACE is out on the festival circuit and doing juuuust fine.

It picked up the ABBY NORMAL award for most innovative (weird) short film at the Portland Horror Film Festival, and then followed that up with an appearance at our very own hometown Houston Horror Film Fest, where it earned the award for best special effects! Very proud of that one as we tried to go all out on campy effects with this one.

If you see this before Saturday we have another online festival opportunity for you on the 26th of September at the Mr. Holehead’s Warped Dimension fest. Tickets are $10 dollars for a day of horror films and our screening block will be at 1pm CT!

It’s been a strange year, and we have certainly missed producing weird stuff with covid-19 making production very difficult, but we hope to get back to it very soon. Fingers crossed.

HOMECOMING - Screening in Houston

ONE MORE TIME

Hey everyone-

Thanks for your support throughout the life of our little movie ‘NOTHING REALLY HAPPENS’! As the film creeps up on being released for a year in March, we decided to do one more screening in our hometown of Houston on 1/31.

If you can make it that would be sweeeeet.

We’ll have some music, a new film, and some additional Director’s Cut VHS copies of the film, which includes some interviews and commentary track.

WHY VHS?

It’s honestly the only way our distributor would let us show a shot of a penis. But it also contains a cut of the film that was mostly seen pre-festival run. Plus, it’s just really weird to release something nonsensically on old formats. It fits our aesthetic.

After the screening, if we have leftover product, we will be selling it via nothingreallyhappens.com. We will keep you updates.

IN OTHER NEWS: We have a new 13 minutes horror short entitled “Mashed Potato Face aka Nightshades” that’s pretty weird. We’re hoping to inspire other filmmakers we like to do more horror (or just kind of f*cked up) shorts that take place in Houston in order to put them together and create a new horror anthology film from the Monster Closet, but we will see. Otherwise we have two more features in the works and something is bound to happen with one of these projects soon!
