…But we’ve changed the title of our latest feature film.
As you can imagine, titling a movie “DICKHEAD!” was always going to be a complicated approach. We even talked a lot about perhaps just naming it “Bad Detective” from the get go… knowing the whole back story of Kevin Smith’s often maligned “Cop Out” and how that film was originally entitled “A Couple of Dicks.” Seems as though even someone with a bit of a ‘name’ in Hollywood couldn’t force his will upon the masses. Media outlets really hate Dicks!
Anyway! We sort of love the new title too, which was suggested by our Director of Photography Michael Langhausen. But thank you to everyone who sent in a suggestion! We really loved “SINK” and “DON’T BUY A SWORD” and “DETECTIVE HEAD” but in our small test ad runs people seem to really respond to “Someone Dies!” and it sort of seemed like a good sister title to the so obvious it hurts title of our first feature, “NOTHING REALLY HAPPENS” (available on TUBI).
All this being said…let us mourn our original working title “DICKHEAD” with a mostly unseen “grindhouse” trailer we put together:
The film is currently actually for real real in color correction and the last stages of sound mixing. We hope to give those of you who weren’t at the cast & crew screening a chance to see it soon.
